MBRF honors trainers and participants of Dubai International Writing Program workshops in Kuwait
March 01, 2023 – The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) honored the participants and trainers of the workshops held as part of the Dubai International Program for Writing (DIPW) in Kuwait. The workshops, which produced numerous creative works in the genres of children’s writing and novels, were a major success among participants and had a positive impact on Kuwait’s creative industry.His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the MBRF, emphasized DIPW’s significance as a vital effort to enrich the Arab youth's intellectual and literary movement. Since its inception in 2013, DIPW has provided young Arab talents with the requisite knowledge and resources to enhance their writing skills and empower their creative side by building upon solid linguistic, cognitive, and scientific knowledge. His Excellency further highlighted how the integrated workshops and training courses contribute to raising a generation of creative writers and translators within the knowledge landscape. Furthermore, he pointed out how participants attending these workshops could greatly benefit from the comprehensive scientific and literary knowledge provided by several Arab and international trainers with extensive experience.H.E. Bin Huwaireb reiterated the MBRF’s commitment to upholding the status of the Arabic language and promoting its usage, particularly among the youth. He added that the Foundation continues to launch several innovative initiatives that enhance the literary and intellectual movement, empowering the creative sector by providing individuals with all the necessary support and assistance. This is also in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote Arabic as a language of the future, science, and innovation.The program aimed to empower Arab youth through a range of innovative workshops in Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Kuwait, and several other countries. The Foundation is currently focusing on organizing more workshops across various fields of knowledge to cater to the interests of the young creative generation and prepare them to become the writers of the future. Additionally, the MBRF seeks to create effective possibilities in knowledge and training in order to advance its objectives of promoting Arab knowledge and linguistic development, as well as inspiring the next generation of Arab writers.Salem Al Owais, Head of the DIPW, said: “We are extremely pleased to witness the remarkable success of the workshops held as part of the program in Kuwait. She added that it gave participants the chance to set aside time to learn and build writing abilities, receive guidance from mentors and peers, and develop their critical sense and personality. Additionally, the team hosted a meeting with trainers to discuss the launch of new workshops in Kuwait in response to the demand for talented young people to join the program.The Dubai International Program for Writing was launched by the MBRF in 2013 with the purpose of enhancing Arabic language knowledge and linguistic output through a wide range of projects and initiatives. Through the program, MBRF aims to enhance the knowledge landscape and raise a generation of authors who can produce exceptional literary work. Since its inception, the program has conducted training sessions for over 300 young participants in various writing arts and organized workshops in several Arab countries including - the UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco. These workshops have produced exceptional literary works, some of which have received prestigious awards and recognitions.
