Dr. Zahida Darwiche Jabbour
Professor of French and Francophone Literature at the Lebanese University
Dr. Zahida Darwiche Jabbour is currently a Professor of French and Francophone Literature at the Lebanese University and served as General Secretary of the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO between 2011-2018. Apart from being a distinguished literary critic, she has authored and translated several books in Arabic and French.
She organized many regional and international conferences and seminars in the fields of UNESCO's work and presented papers on Sustainable Development and Cultural Dialogue. She established the UNESCO Reading Prize.
Dr. Jabbour is President of Jury for the ‘Ibn Khaldoun-Senghor Award for Translation’ and is also the esteemed member of several Arab juries like ‘Arab Thought Foundation for Novel’.
She has been bestowed with Knight of the Order of Academic Palms from the French government.
