Dr. Ahmed Kouchouk

Minister of Finance, Egypt

Dr. Ahmed Ashraf Ali Kouchouk has been Egypt’s Minister of Finance since 1 July 2024. Previously, he served as Deputy Minister of Finance for fiscal policy and institutional reform from March 2016. He worked as a Senior Economist at the World Bank in Cairo from June 2013 and led Egypt’s negotiations with the IMF. He earned a BS in Economics from the American University in Cairo in 1998, an MS in Economics from the University of York, UK, in 2002, and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School in 2010.
