Dr. Hany Torky

Chief Technical Advisor and Project Manager, Knowledge Project – UNDP

Dr. Hany Torky is a distinguished expert in knowledge and development. He currently serves as the Chief Technical Advisor and Project Manager of the Knowledge Project at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

With over 25 years of experience across academic and development sectors, he has played a pivotal role in advancing knowledge-based policymaking and strengthening scientific research in the Arab region and beyond.

Holding a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from Alexandria University, Dr. Torky brings deep expertise in statistical analysis, index construction, modeling, and simulation, as well as supervision of research and advisory services. 

At UNDP, he leads the production of high-impact knowledge products, including the Global Knowledge Index, the Future of Knowledge Foresight Report, and the Future Skills Academy, among others. 

Dr. Torky is a prominent lecturer and speaker, frequently delivering talks and lectures in dialogues on knowledge, statistics, and development trends. His work centers on shaping data-driven public policies, advancing research methodologies, and fostering regional and global discussions on the future of knowledge and skills.
