Fatouma Mohamed Barkat
Fatouma had several experiences, especially at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Djibouti to the United Nations.
Currently, she is the Regional Coordinator for Djibouti City and the Youth Development Delegate of Djibouti, as well as the national gender focal point at UNDP Djibouti since 2021. She is working on a set of projects that have come together in a portfolio called "Rising Djibouti".
Though she is still 25 years old, Fatouma obtained a double degree in International Relations and Political Science and Master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Institutions, NGOs, and Development Policies at the École des Hautes Etudes Internationales et Politiques in Paris.
She attended one year of courses at UNCTAD, WTO, and UNHCR in Geneva. Also, she took part in the International Dialogue on Migration 2020 COVID-19 crisis and the 71st Executive Committee of UNHCR and represented her country at the Palais des Nations in Geneva as an intern.
