Gordon Brown served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Labour Party from 2007 to 2010.
Previously, Brown was a member of Parliament from 1983-2015, he also served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1997 to 2007, making him the longest-serving Chancellor in modern history.
His time in government shaped his views on the importance of education as a fundamental right of every child in the world.
Brown, has a PhD in History from “the University of Edinburgh”, and since leaving government, he has been appointed as UN Special Envoy for Global Education. He also serves as New York University’s inaugural Distinguished Global Leader in Residence.
