Celebrated French Astronaut and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador
Patrick Baudry is the most renowned French astronaut, and a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the French Air Force. In 1985 he became the 2nd French citizen in space, when he flew aboard NASA's Space Shuttle DISCOVERY. Baudry became a CNES astronaut in 1980 as a member of the French-Soviet mission and was trained for scientific experiments in the fields of physiology, biology, materials processing in space, and astronomy. As a Chief Test Pilot of AIRBUS and Advisor of the Chairman at Aerospatiale and EADS, he has flown over 15. 000 hours on 400 different commercial and military aircrafts. In 1989 he founded the First European Training Space Camp. And he was elected as UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in 1999 in recognition his outstanding career.
