Dr. Abdulrahman Alraeesi is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and the Chair of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department, as well as the Director of Emirates Center for Energy and Environment Research, at the United Arab Emirates University. Dr. Alraeesi earned his Bachelor degree from UAE University, and then he joined the UAE University as Teaching Assistant and earned his MSc in 2006 and PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2010, both from Colorado School of Mines, Golden, USA. His primary research interests are in the field of hydrogen energy, hydrogenation/dehydrogenation reactions, and metallic-based membranes separation processes. Prior to being the chair of the department, he was a member of UAE University Council during the 2011-2014 period, and a member National Faculty Development Program for four years. Abdulrahman’s teaching interests include Engineering Thermodynamics, Principles of Chemical Engineering Processes, as well as Chemical Reactor Design. He has been involved in program re-accreditation by ABET for both Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering in 2016. He received several honors and published articles in modeling and in hydrogen separation/reaction.
