University Professor and Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science
Ali Hadi is a Distinguished University Professor and Chair of the Department of Mathematics and Actuarial Science, founder of the Actuarial Science Program, and former Vice Provost and Director of Graduate Studies and Research at the American University in Cairo (AUC). He is also a Professor Emeritus at Cornell University.
Prior to joining the American University in Cairo (AUC), he served as a Professor of Statistics at Cornell University. During the years 1984-2000, he served as an Assistant, an Associate, and a Full Professor, as well as the Chair of the Department of Social Statistics at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
Hadi has won several excellence in research and excellence in teaching awards. He has also received several scholarly honors and awards including the Amoco Foundation Award, the Outstanding Educator Award, and the Schering-Plough Award for Exemplary Teaching.
Hadi has written five books, four book chapters and more than 100 articles in refereed journals. He has more than 13,900 Google Scholars citations and an h-index of 31. He served as Editor and Editor-in-Chief of International Scientific Journals.
