Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer MEA Region, Barclays Plc
Andrew Mortimer is the Chief Operating Officer for Barclays across the Middle East & Africa Region. He has responsibility for the Barclays Operating Model for the region, supporting its investment and corporate and private banking businesses across six locations.
Andrew is also Chairman of the British Business Group Dubai and sits on the advisory council of the UAE Banks Federation and the UK/UAE Business Council.
He joined Barclays from SRM Global Fund, a $3bn Monaco-based hedge fund focused on long and short equity strategies, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer responsible for operations, technology, and administration. Prior to that, Andrew was a managing director at UBS, responsible for European operations.
Over the past 30 years, Andrew, the holder of an executive MBA, has assumed several senior positions at globally recognized financial institutions, including Credit Suisse, and Nomura.
