Carmen Vidal is the Chief Procurement Officer for ENGIE, the leading independent power and water producer in the GCC which is rapidly developing fast customer solutions and renewables. Carmen’s main challenges are to adapt an existing procurement structure with new skills, capabilities, the integration of new companies, increase agility and maturity in sustainable procurement.
Carmen started with ENGIE in 2009, as the first female manager in the team. She has successfully created a network of more than 30 ENGIE procurement managers who collaborate with experts and technical team with a key focus on bringing savings and value to the business.
Her professional commitment is to ensure that ENGIE’s procurement policies in the Middle East include a realistic and pragmatic approach with suppliers on Human Rights, “Zero Life at Risk” and sustainability. Carmen holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering from Polytechnic University in Madrid.
