Clare Back is the Legal Director at AMEA Power, a Dubai-based company that develops, constructs and operates renewable energy projects across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Clare has over 20 years of experience as an international commercial and projects lawyer. She started at Norton Rose Fulbright and qualified into the Project Finance team in London, working on a range of infrastructure projects in the UK. She also spent two years on secondment to Sumitomo Corporation in Tokyo, and at Norton Rose Fulbright in Hong Kong.
She then focused on high-developmental infrastructure projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, spending 10 years advising the developer eleQtra in London, working closely on the development, construction and operation of a range of projects, from solar, wind and hydro-power projects to transportation and irrigation projects.
Clare has an LLB in Law with American Law from the University of Nottingham (and University of Texas at Austin, USA) and is an English-qualified solicitor.
