Chancellor for Administrative Affairs at Paris Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi
Dr. Fatima Al-Shamsi is Chancellor for Administrative Affairs at Paris Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and a former Secretary General of United Arab Emirates University. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Exeter, UK and a Master of Economics from the University of Baltimore, USA. She served as a consultant to the UAE National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority.
Her research deals with economic development and growth issues, economic coordination, the role of the private sector in the development of GCC countries, foreign direct investments, and the diversification of national income. She also focuses on women’s economic role and labour force participation, and has participated in many conferences, seminars and workshops, addressing women’s issues such as “Woman as a partner in political decision”, “Woman as a partner in economy”, “A partner in decision-making”, and many others.
Dr. Al-Shamsi is currently the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the GCC Institute, Washington D.C. and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Economic Research Forum, Cairo, Egypt since 2014.
