Huda Shaka is an Associate Director at Arup and is passionate about influencing Arab cities towards the path of sustainable development through strategic planning, policy advisory, and public engagement. She is an experienced city planner, sustainability consultant and thought leader.
She has been involved in some of the large-scale GCC projects including the Expo 2020 masterplan and the Abu Dhabi Plan Capital 2030 update. Other regional roles saw her focused on identifying, communicating and implementing ambitious environmental, social and economic sustainability targets and strategies.
Huda has a Master’s degree in International Planning from the Bartlett and a BSc in Chemistry and Public Health from the American University of Beirut. She is a Chartered Town Planner and a Chartered Environmentalist.
She has also been qualified under a number of sustainability certifications including LEED, BREEAM, Estidama and GSAS, and is an author and speaker on sustainable cities.
