Ibrahim El-Sherbiny is a professor of smart nanomaterials and nanomedicine, and he is the Founding Director of materials and nanoscience programs, and J.Director of Center for Materials Science (CMS) at Zewail City of Science and Technology.
El-Sherbiny earned his Bachelor degree, with honors, in chemistry (top scholar) and Master degree in polymers from Mansoura University. He received his PhD degree in smart drug delivery from Massey University, New Zealand in 2007. From 2008 to 2009, he joined pharmaceuticals research groups as post-doctoral fellow at University of New Mexico and Texas University in United States. Then, El-Sherbiny has been apointed as Assistant Professor at College of Pharmacy, University of Texas (USA) from 2010.
El-Sherbiny was awarded many fellowships such as Fulbright and several national and international awards including the prestigious State Incentive Award in Science. El-Sherbiny’s research focuses on development of novel intelligent nano- and nano-in-microsystems for various environmental, and biomedical applications. El-Sherbiny has puplished more than 100 scientific papers in high impact peer-reviewed journals over the last ten years plus more than 90 participations in international conferences. He is the author/ editor of three books plus contribution to other 17 books, and more than fifteen review articles. He is a named inventor on 24 national and iternational patents.
El-Sherbiny is the A. editor of DDIP, and he is a member of different international scientific societies including American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, Biomedical Engineering Society (US), American Chemical Society, New Zealand Institute of Chemistry, and Materials Research Society (US).
