Human Development Report Office
Milorad Kovacevic is chief statistician of the Human Development Report Office. Before joining United Nations Development Programme in 2009, he was working at Statistics Canada for more than seventeen years as head of Data Analysis Methods Research. He was also teaching statistics at the University of Belgrade, Serbia and the University of Iowa, Iowa City, United States. Milorad also worked for the Federal Statistical Office of Yugoslavia. He spent two sabbatical stints doing statistical methodology research at the University of Southampton (United Kingdom) and the University of Wollongong (Australia). Milorad has been doing research and teaching in the area of survey sampling, analysis of complex survey data, analysis of longitudinal data, estimation of inequality, polarization and poverty, finite population inference, composite measures of progress and success and international statistical comparison. He was the president of Survey Methods Section of the Statistical Society of Canada and the associate editor of the Canadian Journal of Statistics. Milorad holds Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Belgrade.
