Dr. Najoua Ghriss is a frequent researcher contributor at the national centre for Pedagogical Innovation and Educational Research in Tunisia, member of the Research Forum for Educational, Psychological and Learning Research at the Tunisian higher Institute of Education and Training. She has also been a member of the Tunisian society of University Pedagogy and a member of the association for developing school education.
Dr. Ghriss brings decades of experience working on educational issues and has an illustrious record contributing to international organization. At the United Nations Development Programme and Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, Dr. Ghriss co-authored the second and third Arab Knowledge Reports. She also completed an assessment study for educational curriculum on skills – basis in African countries at France’s Centre for Pedagogical Studies. Within the context of the Monitoring Learning Achievement Program at United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Dr.Ghriss assumed the functions of the Temporary representative of the Educational Section. As a core team member of the Arab Observatory for Education she carried out the assessment of several activities designed by the the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization.
Beside her professional engagements, Dr. Ghriss has published many studies, the most recent being in 2014 on “The Performance of Arab Countries in TIMSS 2011”. She also contributed to the Center for Arab Unity Studies’ book on the “Arab Human Development in the 21st century: Priorities of Empowerment” by writing the chapter on “The Status of Primary Education in General and more Specifically Religious Education: from Stocking up Knowledge to Personal Development”.
Dr. Ghriss holds a PhD in Education from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tunis University in collaboration with Louvain-La-Neuve University in Belgium.
