Prof. Dr. Essam Ahmad Mahmoud El-Kordi is the president of Alexandria University, Egypt, and a professor of structural analysis, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University.
He was the Chief of Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Beirut University, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University.
Moreover, Dr. El-Kordi is a member of the Union of Euro-Mediterranean Universities, the Union of Francophone Universities, the Union of Mediterranean Universities, the Board of Trustees of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Board of Directors of the City of Scientific Research.
Dr. El-Kordi was awarded his bachelor degree of civil engineering (Grade: Excellent with Honours) in 1981. He got his Masters degree in structural engineering in Alexandria University in 1985. He got his Ph.D. in civil engineering in North Eastern University, U.S.A. in 1992.
Dr. El-Kordi was awarded a Shield of Honour and a Certificate of Merit by the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate.
Dr. El-Kordi was involved in a large number of local and international agreements, projects, scientific conferences and symposia.
He published more than 40 researches in international scientific journals and conferences.
