Assistant Director General for Scientific and Technical Affairs Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre
Salem assumed the position of Assistant Director General for Scientific and Technical Affairs in 2012, with his role focusing on ensuring the vision and mission of MBRSC are achieved through the different technical and scientific programmes being run at the Centre. He previously held the same position at the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST) before it was integrated into the Centre.
He has over 10 years of experience in the space industry and was part of the team which setup EIAST and MBRSC. He was formally the Director of the Space Programme Department at EIAST, and was the Project Manager for MBRSC’s earlier satellite projects: DubaiSat-1 and DubaiSat-2.
Salem is currently overseeing the expansion of the Centre in different scientific and technical fields along with the centre’s continued development in the space field, as well as working towards ensuring all initiatives at MBRSC serve the stakeholders with useful value added services. One of his major goals is ensuring the achievement of domestic satellite development through Emirati engineers.
