Officer-in-Charge for day-to-day matters and Senior Livestock Development Officer, FAO
Markos Tibbo is a Senior Livestock Development Officer and Officer-in-Charge for day-to-day matters of the FAO Subregional Office for the GCC States and Yemen, based in the United Arab Emirates.
With 30 years of experience in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia, in addition to his managerial role, he provides technical assistance to member states in animal production and health. He has held various positions at FAO, CGIAR, and national agricultural systems.
He received a Ph.D. in Animal Science and a DVM in Veterinary Medicine.
He attended several short courses, among others, in leadership, project cycle, managing performance and giving effective feedback, statistical programming languages, etc.
Dr. Tibbo has authored or co-authored over 140 publications and has received several awards for his contributions to science and for leading an Outstanding Research Team. He also served on the editorial boards and as a regular reviewer for various scientific journals.
