Associate Dean, Lebanese American University (LAU)
Ali Fakih is a Professor of Applied Economics and Associate Dean at the Adnan Kassar School of Business at the Lebanese American University (LAU). He is also a Fellow at the Economic Research Forum (ERF), the IZA Institute of Labor Economics, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Analysis of Organizations (CIRANO), and the Global Labor Organization (GLO). He previously served as Chairperson of the Department of Economics at LAU from 2022 to 2025.
Dr. Fakih holds a PhD in Economics from the Université de Montréal. His research focuses on labor economics, development economics, quantitative methods, the finance–growth nexus, political economy transformations, and MENA economies. He has authored more than 70 articles in leading international journals.
Alongside his academic work, Dr. Fakih is actively engaged in policy-oriented research and regularly undertakes consultancy assignments for national and international organizations.
