Distinguished University Professor and Former Chair, Mathematics and Actuarial Science, American University in Cairo (AUC)
Ali S. Hadi, Ph.D. (NYU, 1984), is Distinguished University Professor and former Chair of the Department of Mathematics & Actuarial Science at The American University in Cairo (AUC). He founded AUC’s Actuarial Science Program in 2004 and the Data Science Program in 2019, and previously served as AUC’s Vice Provost.
A fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA, 1997), member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI, 1998), and fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS, 2019), Dr. Hadi has been recognized for advancing statistics, actuarial science, and data science education and research.
Before AUC, he was a Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellow and Professor at Cornell University, where he is now Professor Emeritus.
