Dr. Cathy Garner is an innovation expert specializing in knowledge-based development for cities and communities. She holds several advisory and non-executive roles nationally and internationally.
She is President of the World Capital Institute (Mexico) and a Board Member of its European branch. In the UK, she serves as Senior Independent Director and Trustee at the Centre for Ageing Better, evidence advisor to the Scale-Up Institute, and Trustee of the Merchant Company of Edinburgh. As CEO of Manchester: Knowledge Capital, she built a major city partnership for economic and environmental development.
Dr. Garner’s recent publications include City Preparedness for the Climate Crisis and The Urban University and Knowledge Economy. She is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society and the Royal Society of Arts, and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Lancaster.
