Dean of Library at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MIST)

Prior to joining Khalifa University, Dr. Abdulla was Dean of Library at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). He also worked with the Libraries Deanship of the UAE University at various higher administrative positions; he was Assistant Dean of Library (2007-2011). Furthermore, he was involved actively in the transition of the UAEU Library from traditional to an IT-based library rich in digital resources and services.
In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Dr. Abdulla was involved in many regional library events in his role as Chair of Special Libraries Association – Arabian Gulf Chapter (2008-2010). He is a member of the Scientific Research Evaluation committee – Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science, and was awarded the Sheikh Rashid Scientific Outstanding award in 2009.
Dr. Abdulla obtained his MLIS from North Carolina Central University (2002) and PhD from Cairo University (2011). He completed his training in leadership institute for academic librarians at Harvard graduate school of education and has also successfully completed the MEPI/USBTO librarian programme in copyrights and digital management issues
