Dr. Abdullah bin Yahya Al Faifi is an Associate Professor in Computational Linguistics and Arabic Language Processing Technologies and heads the Language Computing Sector at the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language. He holds a PhD in Natural Language Processing from the University of Leeds, combining academic expertise with leadership in language computing.
His research focuses on computational linguistics, Arabic language processing, linguistic corpora, and lexicography. He has numerous publications in journals and conferences and has contributed to books on AI technologies in Arabic language computing, establishing him as a leading specialist in the field.
Dr. Al Faifi has led pioneering projects within the Academy, including digital platforms and lexicons such as the Siwar Platform, the Falak Platform, the Riyadh Dictionary of Contemporary Arabic, the Balsam Index for AI maturity in Arabic, the Language Computing Observatory, Barmajan, and the Saudi Aswat Corpus, advancing the digital infrastructure of the Arabic language and its presence in the digital age.
