Director of the Center of Translation and Publishing, ICESCO
Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan is Director of the Centre for Translation and Publishing at the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), where he leads strategic initiatives in translation, scholarly publishing, and the digital transformation of knowledge.
He previously served as Director of the Education Sector at ICESCO and chaired the Executive Committee of the Conference of Ministers of Education of the Islamic World. A pioneer in higher education and research in languages and translation in Saudi Arabia, he was the founding Dean of the College of Languages and Translation and the King Abdullah Institute of Translation and Arabization at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, and is the founding President of the Saudi Scholarly Association for Languages and Translation. He also served three consecutive terms in the Translation Division of the Experts Authority at the Council of Ministers.
Dr. Al-Bunyan holds a PhD in Linguistics from Michigan State University and an MA from Indiana University Bloomington. He has made notable contributions to education policy, cultural communication, scholarly publishing, and institutional development at ICESCO.
