Dr. Fauzia Idrees Abro is an Associate Professor and Programme Director of the Cyber Security Distance Learning Programme at Royal Holloway, University of London. She holds a PhD in Information Security Engineering, an MSc in Information Security, an MBA in Entrepreneurship, and a foundational background in Electronics Engineering, and brings over 25 years of combined academic and industry experience in cybersecurity.
Her research and teaching span secure system design, cyber resilience, and workforce development. Dr. Abro advises multiple international organisations—including the British Council, CISO Forum, the Global Foundation for Cyber Studies and Research, and the Global Council for Responsible AI—helping bridge policy, practice, and education.
Her work has received wide recognition through numerous awards, including the UK Alumni Award, the UN Science & Technology Award, Cyber Security Woman of the Year (2025), and listings among the Top Women Engineers in the UK and top women in security in the ASEAN region.
