Chief Technical Adviser and Project Manager, Knowledge Project – UNDP
With over 20 years of experience in academia and development, Dr. Hany holds a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from Alexandria University. He currently serves at the UNDP as the Chief Technical Advisor of the Knowledge Project, which is a pioneering initiative on knowledge and development in the Arab region.
He has led and overseen the production of the Global Knowledge Index in 2017–2019, the Future of Knowledge Foresight Report in 2018–2019, the Arab Reading Index in 2016, and the Arab Knowledge Index in 2015–2016, in addition to the implementation of the Knowledge4All portal and mobile application.
He has also led two surveys, sampling 5,800 and 5,500 school students, conducted in four Arab countries, whose results were exhibited in the Arab Knowledge Report 2010/2011 and Arab Knowledge Report 2014, respectively.
His areas of expertise comprise advisory service provision, delivery of lectures and talks on knowledge and statistics, supervision of research, statistical analysis, construction of indices, and modeling and simulation.
