Dr. Hosni Ghedira is currently a Professor of Practice at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI). He previously served as the Director of Research Engagement at MBZUAI and Director of the Research Center for Renewable Energy Mapping and Assessment at Masdar Institute from 2010 to 2020.
Before moving to the UAE, he spent six years as a faculty member at the City University of New York, where he was the founding director of the Environmental Remote Sensing and Image Processing Laboratory at the NOAA Cooperative Remote Sensing Science & Technology Center in New York.
Dr. Ghedira has 25 years of experience in diverse sectors, including energy, environment, water, innovation, and climate.
In January 2019, Dr. Ghedira was recognized by Solar Quarter Magazine as one of the most influential solar business leaders in the MENA PV market. In January 2018, he was nominated as a member of the Mohammed bin Rashid Academy of Scientists (MBRAS).
