Former Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Egypt, and CEO, Baseera
Dr. Magued Ibrahim Osman is CEO of the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research (Baseera) and Professor of Statistics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. He serves on the National Council for Women; is Rapporteur of the Higher Advisory Committee for Human Development; Vice Chairman of the Arab Union for Statisticians; on the international advisory board of AUC’s School of Global Affairs & Public Policy; trustee of the French University in Egypt; board member of the National Planning Institute; Vice Chairman of Takatof Organization; and trustee of Al-Nas Hospital and WOMENOVATION. He is Lead Author of the National Human Development Report.
Previously, he chaired the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) from 2005 to 2011, before serving as Minister of Communications and Information Technology in the post-revolution caretaker government.
His work spans Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the UAE, and the USA. He received Egypt’s State Merit Award in Social Sciences in 2024.
