Dr. Mayyada Abu Jaber is a feminist scholar, social entrepreneur, and policy reform advocate advancing gender equality in the MENA region. As Founder and CEO of JoWomenomics – Feminist Economy for Training and Development, she helped amend Jordan’s Labour Law to strengthen equity, add a sexual harassment article, and create work opportunities for over 1,000 women.
She previously served as Founding CEO of Education for Employment – Jordan (EFE), enabling more than 3,000 young people to access jobs, and as Education Advisor at Her Majesty Queen Rania’s Office, contributing to the national teacher training strategy. She also founded World of Letters, a social enterprise promoting education through inclusive learning models.
Dr. Abu Jaber holds a Master’s degree from Duke University and a Doctorate in Management of Innovation and Technology. She introduced the ecofeminist IFREE framework and is a Brookings Institution Global Scholar and UNESCO Prize Jury Member.
