Senior Advisor to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Trade and Development
Dr. Mohammed Almoghayer is a distinguished development leader with over twenty years of experience in financing sustainable development. He currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Trade and Development.
He previously held senior roles across the United Nations system, including CEO of the Geneva-based UN Global Partnership Hub and Senior Advisor at UNDP covering the Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, and Africa. Before joining Harvard University’s Center for Middle East Studies as a research fellow, he advised the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and Norway.
Dr. Almoghayer holds a PhD in Development Studies from Erasmus University Rotterdam and Columbia University in New York. Fluent in Arabic, Dutch, Norwegian, and English, he has received six international awards, including the Ossietzky Award.
