Dr. Mouza Al Shehhi is Director of the UN Women–UAE Liaison Office for the GCC, a role she has held since 2016, leading efforts to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment in the UAE, across the GCC, and globally.
Previously, she served as Senior Adviser and International Representative to the General Women’s Union (2010–2016), representing the UAE at the United Nations, the League of Arab States, and the GCC. A former Lieutenant Colonel in the UAE Armed Forces, she founded the Physical Readiness Department and the Sports Medicine Wing, and earlier worked as a physician and researcher at Mile End and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals in London, and as a Sports Medicine Specialist at Zayed Military Hospital.
She also served as Acting CEO of the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Sports Academy (2010–2012). Dr. Mouza holds an MD from Arabian Gulf University and an MSc in Sports Medicine from Queen Mary University of London.
