Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik serves as Director General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat, Morocco. Prior to this appointment, he was Advisor and Inspector General of the General Directorate of International Cooperation, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Education for Health Affairs at the Ministry of Education of Saudi Arabia, and Secretary-General of the Saudi National Commission for Education, Culture and Science. He also practiced clinically as a consultant in Allergy and Immunology at King Abdulaziz Medical City, National Guard.
Dr. Al-Malik also served as Director of the Knowledge Industries Sector at the Saudi General Investment Authority, where he chaired the team that developed a knowledge-based industry strategy. He previously held the post of Deputy Executive Director for Medical Services in the Central Region at the National Guard Health Affairs.
He holds a Master’s degree in Health Management and Policy from Harvard University, an Executive Fellowship in Medical Administration, and a diploma in Medical Administration from the American College of Executive Physicians.
