Flora Rees is Head of Education, Training and Publishing at the Emirates Literature Foundation, and has 20 years’ experience in the publishing industry. In 2017 she was involved in setting up and running the Dubai International Publishing Conference, connecting with publishers across the UAE and our region as well as internationally.
She chaired two sessions at the conference – a discussion with Nisha Katona about her unusual entry to publishing, and the translation matchmaking session featuring Isobel Abulhoul and Ibrahim Khadim.
Flora moved to Dubai in 2015, before which she was Senior Editor, Fiction, at Headline Publishing Group, a division of Hachette UK, where her roles included publishing bestselling authors in print and digital, including million-copy-seller Victoria Hislop, and reinvigorating the audiobook list.
