General Counsel of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the global leading free zone for regulating, promoting and trading commodities. Kiran oversees all legal, regulatory and compliance requirements arising from DMCC Authority’s role as the licensing authority of DMCC Free Zone and DMCC’s role as the operator and master developer of the DMCC Free Zone.
Her role encompasses regulation of specialist sectors such as gold and rough diamonds and the supervision over DMCC businesses, which include the clearing house and a tea distribution center. Kiran also heads up the DMCC Disputes Centre, which provides workplace and commercial mediations.
Before joining DMCC in 2014, Kiran specialized as a lawyer in public-private partnership projects in emerging markets. She worked at international law firms in UK, Australia, Singapore and Dubai. Kiran is passionate about the role empowerment plays in leading organizations and she is enabler, business leader, strategist, adviser, decision maker, problem solver and innovator.
She obtained Bachelor of Law (with Honors) from University of Glasgow, Scotland.
