Layal Wehbe is a Project Officer and Economic Analyst with the UNDP Regional Youth Team at the Regional Bureau for Arab States. Affiliated with UNDP since 2013, she has contributed to the conceptualization and implementation of regional initiatives on data literacy and youth empowerment.
An economist by training, Layal holds a master’s degree in financial economics and has five years of teaching experience at the American University of Beirut. She has over twelve years of experience in economic and statistical research on key development issues in the Arab region, particularly in political economy and sustainable development.
Layal provides programmatic and analytical support on youth economic and civic empowerment, and currently leads youth engagement initiatives such as the NextGenYouth platform and Youth Engagement in NDCs. She has extensive experience fostering inclusive youth participation, mobilizing partnerships, and developing digital solutions to empower young innovators.
