Senior Communications Officer, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)
Malak Atkeh is a seasoned communications professional with over 22 years of experience in strategic communication, crisis management, humanitarian diplomacy, and public relations. She has worked with leading international organizations, including the British Council, IRC, UNDP, IOM, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), consistently enhancing their visibility and humanitarian impact, particularly across the GCC and MENA region.
At IFRC, Malak leads media relations and coordinates major regional and global events. She serves as lead coordinator for the DIHAD Conference and Exhibition, the MENA region’s premier humanitarian event, and played a key role as IFRC UAE Coordinator during COP28, engaging around 90 National Societies and positioning IFRC as a leading voice on climate-related humanitarian challenges.
Earlier, with UNDP Syria, she helped shape communication strategies at the onset of the crisis and led youth-focused community and environmental initiatives. Fluent in Arabic and English, with proficiency in French, Malak holds an MSc in Corporate Communication and Public Relations and a Postgraduate Certificate in International Management from the United Kingdom.
