He started his career in Al-Ekhbariya TV, a Saudi satellite TV channel, where he worked as a war correspondent in southern Saudi Arabia for three years, and this significantly helped in refining his media talents. Malek also hosted and interviewed many media professionals, who participated in the media coverage of the war in southern Saudi Arabia. He participated in a number of events, including the famous Hakaya Misk Festival, the largest gathering of creative writers in writing, drawing, direction and animation sectors, managed by the Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Foundation (MiSK), a non-profit foundation devoted to cultivating learning and leadership in youth for the Saudi Arabia of tomorrow. His performance at the festival was brilliant particularly in presenting "Hakaya Almoravidin", a main daily section of the festival. He worked as a presenter at MBC, and presented a number of media coverages, reports and political documentaries. He has also been the director of MBC News office in KSA since 2015, and worked in numerous media organizations and as a media advisor for some Saudi government agencies. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Media from KSU in Riyadh.
