Maya Hojeij joined Asharq News in July 2020 as a business news anchor. She has more than 20 years’ experience in media and communications with major regional and global media organizations. She held the position of Senior News Presenter and Chief Editor at Dubai TV between 2012 and 2020. And between 2002 and 2011, she presented the business news on Al Arabiya TV.
Maya holds master’s degree in leadership and innovation in contemporary media, while also educating students in media and journalism at the American University of Dubai.
Mentoring and empowering women has also been a major area of focus and dedication for Maya. She has participated in numerous high-level events focusing on youth, women and entrepreneurship including the World Government Summit and the Women in Leadership Forum. She has also moderated and participated as an MC for high-level events attended by senior government members and ministers, as well as c-suite executives from global corporations.
