Regional Coordinator for Science and Policy, UNEP West Asia
Mohamad Najibeddine is the Regional Coordinator for Science–Policy at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Regional Office for West Asia. He brings 18+ years of experience leading national and international efforts to curb pollution and advance sustainability.
His career spans multiple portfolios, including service with the Government of Canada at Environment and Climate Change Canada and the Department of National Defence, where he worked for many years as a Project and Control Development Engineer. He also represented Canada as a negotiator for the international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment.
Najibeddine holds an M.E.M. in Engineering Management and a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
