Former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Egypt
Motaz Khorshid is a former Minister of Higher Education and Minister of State for Scientific Research in Egypt. A longtime Cairo University professor, he previously served as Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research at Cairo University and Vice President of the British University in Egypt. His international roles include Chief Technical Advisor at UNDESA and Senior Research Scientist at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.
His scholarship spans computer-aided models and decision support systems, simulation methodology, macro and economy-wide modeling, and the planning and management of higher education and research. He has developed socioeconomic accounting systems and economy-wide models for several Arab countries.
Professor Khorshid holds a Doctorate of State in Management Sciences and a Doctorate of Engineering in Computer Sciences & Simulation Modeling from Paris University, an M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Cairo University, and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Ain Shams University. He was awarded France’s “Academic Palm.”
