Nikos Nikiforakis is a Global Network Professor at New York University, Professor of Economics at NYU Abu Dhabi, and Director of the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID). An internationally recognized behavioral economist, he studies how social norms shape behavior and what that means for policy.
His research appears in leading journals, including the American Economic Review and Nature Communications, and he serves on the editorial boards of the European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Psychology, and Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics.
Professor Nikiforakis works closely with senior policymakers to translate behavioral science into practice. He has advised the Presidential Court and Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi, as well as the Australian Government, and currently serves on the Technical Advisory Board of the Behavioral Science Group at the UAE’s Office of Development Affairs.
