Director and lead author of the Human Development Report Office
Pedro Conceição is the Director of the UNDP Human Development Report Office. He was the Director of Strategic Policy at the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support of UNDP, where he co-led the UN’s participation in the G20 Finance and Central Bank Governors Meetings, and contributed to articulate UNDP’s support to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
He was the Director of the Office of Development Studies (ODS), and the Deputy Director of ODS. Before joining UNDP, he was an Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal.
He has Master's degrees in Physics from Instituto Superior Técnico and in Economics from the Technical University of Lisbon, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Lyndon B. Johnson School. He co-edited "The New Public Finance: Responding to Global Challenges” (2006), and "Providing Global Public Goods: Managing Globalization” (2003).
