Professor Yousry El-Gamal

Former Minister of Education, Egypt, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology

Yousry El-Gamal is Professor of Computer Engineering, and Senior Consultant at The Arab Academy for Science and Technology, and Chairman of The Computer Scientific Society. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, and a senior consultant at the National Telecommunications Institute of Egypt.

Professor El-Gamal joined the Nuclear Reactors Department at the Atomic Energy Commission and received a diploma in nuclear electronics from the International Atomic Energy Agency.

In 1977, he obtained a master's degree in computer engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, and in the same year, joined the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport as a lecturer in measurement and control devices.

Professor El-Gamal holds a DSc in Computer Sciences from the George Washington University, and was granted the Richard Merwin Award. He is a board member of the Center of Special studies and Programs and the Center of Science and Planetarium, Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
