Russell Brooks provides leadership for Heriot-Watt University’s online education programs, which reach 8,000 learners across the world and cover the fields of business, engineering, and energy. His responsibilities include portfolio and product strategy, student recruitment, course development and delivery, and partnerships.
Previously, Russell was Associate Director of Online Programs at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he led the strategic development of LSE Online that has attracted 28,000 participants from over 160 countries. Russell also served as Deputy Director for Extended Education at LSE, overseeing planning, operations, and business development for LSE’s Summer School.
Before joining LSE, he was Head of Strategy & Operations (Philanthropy and Partnerships) at Cancer Research UK, where he was part of the team that delivered a successful £100 million capital appeal to fund the charity’s contribution to the construction of the Francis Crick Institute.
