Steve Appleton is the Managing Director of Contact Consulting, a specialist consultancy and research practice working at the intersection of health, housing and social care. His work concentrates on mental health problems, substance misuse, and intellectual disability. He is the author of a range of UK national guidance and best practice documents and has played a leading role in recent population based mental health initiatives in the UK and Europe.  Steve is the European Lead for the International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership and co-ordinates their work across Europe, as well as working with colleagues in North America and Australasia. IIMHL is a unique global collaborative that focuses on improving mental health and addictions services. IIMHL organises systems for international innovation sharing, networking and problem solving across countries and agencies. The overall aim is to provide better outcomes for people who use mental health and addiction services and their families.
