Vito Intini is the Regional Chief Economist at UNDP in the Arab States region. He previously served as Regional Chief Economist and Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Finance Team Leader at UNDP, and as Principal Macroeconomic Adviser at UN DESA in New York, where he worked on global macroeconomic forecasting, SDG interactions and prioritization, and SDG costing and budgeting, and led UN guidance on economic transformation.
Earlier, he headed the Economic Governance Section at ESCWA in Beirut, overseeing publications and capacity-building on inequality, sustainable development strategies, fiscal policy, development in conflict, and market competition. He also led the global Municipal Finance programme at UNCDF and has worked with the World Bank in the Balkans, OECD, OSCE, the European Union and academia.
Vito specialised in international economics and holds master’s degrees in environmental policies and in development and labour economics. He further specialised in regional economics, economic geography and econometrics, and is a former Fulbright visiting fellow.
