Dr. Zain H. Alsharif ALZaabi is an economic consultant in MOHRE and Director of Labor Standards and Policies Department in the Ministry of Labor in Dubai. After completing his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Public Administration at the University of the United Arab Emirates (1981), Dr. ALZaabi continued on to do his Masters of Arts in Economics at Western Michigan University in the US (1986) and a further Ph.D. in Economics (Labor economic) from Aberdeen University in the UK 2007.
Dr. ALZaabi has worked in various positions at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs including Deputy Director of Labor Department and Director of Labor Department. In 2008, he was Director of Labor Standards and Policies Department, while during the period between 2011-2014, he held the position of Director of Labor Market Studies and Information at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization.
