Head of Regional Digital Transformation Team, UNDP
Dany Wazen is Head of the Regional Digital Transformation and AI Team at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP-RBAS). With over 22 years of experience in information technology with the United Nations, he leads the Regional Digital Transformation Team at the UNDP Regional Hub and manages the Digital and AI for Sustainable Development Initiative (D4SD), supporting 20 Arab countries on digital transformation.
He has extensive experience in designing and implementing complex digital and ICT solutions, developing national digital strategies, future-ready policies and regulations, and sectoral digital roadmaps, as well as helping countries advance global digital indicators. He previously served on UNDP’s Global Digital Governance Group, overseeing technology services, strategy, and investments across the organization.
Dany holds master’s degrees in applied mathematics, information technology, and enterprise management, and a diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a frequent speaker at regional and global forums on digital transformation and AI.
